Please help me get my old agilekeychain file working in version 7

Hello!

I have my old file (agilekeychain) synced with dropbox, but version 7 don't recognise the file.

Can you please guide me through how I can get it back to working?

I don't have any old version of 1password.

    Hi @anthMAG! Welcome to the forum!

    If you open 1Password 7 and select the File menu from the menu bar > Import..., you will see this window:

    Once you are here, please select the option named 1Password Keychain to convert and import your old data into 1Password 7 ;)

    Hello! Thanks for helping me!

    Unfortunately I am unable to import, since it is greyed out, and I can't figure out what I have to do to enable it. I thought I had to create a new vault, but that didn't seem to help either?

    Is your 1Password 7 app already activated, either with a license purchase or with a 1Password subscription?

    No, it doesn't seem to be activated. In fact I found I seem to have purchased 1Password 6 and not 7. Is there a way to get 7 for free or upgrade?

    @anthMAG:

    1Password 7 is a paid upgrade, so you will need either a new license, or an active 1Password Membership (which is paid with a subscription). Without one of these two options, the app will remain in read-only mode, and I believe this is exactly why you are not able to import your data, and you are only able to export it, looking at the screenshot you posted.

    I am willing to pay in order to upgrade my 1Password 6 to 7, but I am really struggling to find where I can do this on your site. All docs seem to refer to the membership (which I prefer to avoid), even where it actually says there is a standalone upgrade, like the link below. There's even a section for my use case, but not how to pay for the upgrade instead of a membership?

    Purchasing a license for 1Password 7 can be done directly within the app, it cannot be done on our website. You should have seen a message in the app saying that you can purchase an upgrade there, so I wonder if you perhaps downloaded the 1Password app from the Mac App Store?

    In order to be able to purchase a license for 1Password 7, you need to download the app from our website, as the Mac App Store version only supports 1Password Memberships. Once you launch the app for the first time, you should see an option to purchase a license ;)
