1Password can’t write to your data folder - terminal app doesn't work
I'm getting "1Password can’t write to your data folder" on a MacBook Pro I recently migrated to. My Vault is stored on Dropbox and I can sync with another desktop and two iOS devices - just not the MacBook. I tried the Terminal App command per the Help recommendations but to no avail. What's the next step? I did disassociate from the vault and reconnect, but it didn't solve the issue.
1Password Version: 1Password 7 Version 7.4.1 (70401002)
Extension Version: Not Provided
OS Version: 10.14.6
Sync Type: Dropbox

Hi @chicowolfe! Welcome to the forum!
At what point in the process do you see this error message? If you could let us know the steps you followed to get to this point, it will be very helpful. Thank you!

Thanks for the response. Here's when the message appears: any time I try to edit any information in 1Pass that's stored in the vault I get the message. If, for example, I try to update a password, I get the alert "1Password can't write to your data folder". Then a browser Help window takes me here.
Other things I've tried include moving the vault to iCloud, but I get the same message. I gather from the Terminal command instructions that there's something running that needs to stop, but I can't tell that it does anything. I also tried to go to the Activity monitor to quit all 1Password options, but that didn't help, either. I was, I should note, unable to quit 1Password Extension Helper.

Can you please try quitting 1Password completely (right-click on 1Password mini in the menu bar at the top right of your screen > Quit 1Password Completely), and then relaunch 1Password? Do you see the same error message when you try to edit items after relaunching?

Hi, thanks for the reply.
I've quit 1Password completely and still get the same error message after relaunch.

Thank you for the confirmation @chicowolfe. I see that you have also emailed us the same question, so in order to avoid duplicating support efforts, I am now going to close this conversation, and we will continue via email.
