When I go to my vault through the web interface I see something that looks like this - what is it, and what is it's purpose...

    Hi @MisterQ!

    That's the notifications icon. It will show you a number other than 0 if you are the admin of a 1Password account and have to handle recovery requests, for example, or when you invite new people to the account and want to confirm them.
