1Password gets confused about what version is installed, causing an upgrade loop
The automatic update for the 1Password app seems to be caught in an update loop. It goes like this:
- I perform a clean install using the procedure described here https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/108785/faq-updating-to-1password-v7-4-from-a-previous-version-gives-an-error-message#latest
- I install the chrome extension
- I check the "About 1Password" menu item, it reports version 7.4.1
- Everything is fine for a few minutes or hours
- I get a notification from 1Password that there is an update available.
- I check the "About 1Password menu item. It reports version 7.3.2. (Huh?)
- I click "Update..." in the notification
- 1Password Updater opens, says that version 7.4.1 is available and asks for my Mac login password
- I supply the password and the updater runs
- GOTO 4
I'm not sure if this is related, but I also have intermittent problems with the Chrome extension. It seems to be a failure to communicate with the main application. Using "Quit 1Password completely" sometimes helps, and updating to 7.4.1 sometimes helps, but these problems don't seem to line up consistently with the upgrade cycle above.
1Password Version: 7.3.2, 7.4.1
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: macOS 10.14.5 (18F132)
Sync Type: 1password.com

There are two: '1Password 7.app' and '1Password 7.app.zip'. The Finder says the app is version 7.3.2, while if I open the zip file (into another directory to avoid overwriting) it contains version 7.4.1
