Having trouble saving username, password and security code for website

Options

Hello. I run Firefox with the 1Password X extension. I have Firefox autofill turned off.

When attempt to save my username, password and security code to 1PWX for autofill later, 1PWX only saves the username and pw, not the security code. When I attempt to save the security code, it saves the security code as the pw and overwrites my pw.

The website I am having trouble with is https://prepaid.bankofamerica.com/EddCard/Verify/SignIn?m=1.

This is where I enter the username, then hit "Continue":

On the next page, I confirm I'm not a robot, then I hit "Continue":

On this last page, I enter my PW and 3-digit Security Code (this is where the hangup occurs)

Please let me know if you can provide a solution or if I can answer more questions.

Thanks.

  • Hey @TheTeegardens. 👋 Bank of America has been causing a fair bit of trouble lately in general, so I don't guarantee this will work, but this is what I'd like you to try.

Add a custom field to your Login item. For the field name, you'll want to right-click on the security field, click Inspect, and then look for the id label. Name the field in your 1Password item that, and input the corresponding value manually. For example, on the 1Password.com sign-in page, under this scenario, I'd be looking to label the field master-password.

Let me know how that works for you!

    Hi there!

Thanks for your advice! Your suggestion solved the problem.

However, I'm having the same issue with [https://secure.checksinthemail.com/GetOrderStatus.aspx].

When I choose "inspect" for these two boxes, I enter their id's into new fields created in 1Password.

The Routing Number shows id = ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_txtRoutingNumber.

The Account Number shows id = ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_txtAccountNumber.

However, I still can't get the boxes to populate.

Does this make sense? Am I missing something?

    I hope you can help.

    Thanks.

    Craig

Hello @ag_michaelc. Would you look at the above question and let me know what you think? I sent you a question on 12/29/19 regarding "Checks In The Mail".

I am also having similar trouble on Regal Theater's website (https://regmovies.com/rcc/login).

    Thanks!

    Hey @TheTeegardens ,
I wasn't able to make things work properly for the ChecksInTheMail website. I managed to get the first field autofilled by setting it as the username field of type text, and naming it ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_txtRoutingNumber , but the other field is a tricky one :)

Regal Theater's website completely disables 1Password X in it, but surprisingly enough the 1Password companion extension is able to save a proper login on it and also autofills it well. Feel free to try it: https://1password.com/browsers/

    Hello @ag_michaelc ,

Thank you for your assistance so far with my issues with a few websites. I have installed the 1Password companion extension which has helped in a few of my cases.

I am having a similar issue with saving the login for Firefox. I have tried using both 1Password X and the companion extension, and neither seem to autofill the fields.

I am naming the username and password fields with the proper names (as shown by choosing "Inspect" and matching it to the "id" shown). However, I am not having any luck.

    The URL is https://accounts.firefox.com/signin.

I have also chosen "Use a different account" and still am not having success.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    Hey @TheTeegardens ,
Firefox has completely disabled any and all autofilling options in their login page on purpose.

Not much to do here except sending them an email or posting on their forums to change their minds :)

  • One of our developers detailed a workaround here, if you're interested, although you should take caution any time you're messing around with low-level settings like these.
