iOS 1Password requires login every time I switch between 1Password and an app to copy to

When I try to use 1Password in an app with a userid and password not only does it not allow me to auto fill the fields, but if I open 1Password, open the app, copy in the userid, and then go back to 1Password to copy the password, 1Password now requires me to log back into the 1Password application, rendering the entire process too cumbersome to be worth it.

Is there a way around this? A setting to keep this from happening?

    Yes, you can play with the Lock on Exit and auto-lock settings under 1Password Settings > Security if you prefer. Or you can enable Touch ID or Face ID to make switching back to the app and unlocking it much faster.
