Spinning Beach Ball on Startup and frequently during use

Hi I've been having a lot of performance issues making 1PW basically unusable. When I start it, I immediately get about 10 second delay with the spinning beach ball, and then any operation (searching, editing, etc) kicks it off again. I've tried moving the application to the trash and re-installing from the App Store, but wasn't sure what other things I needed to delete. Needless to say that didn't solve anything.
