How to get started with vaults

I signed up for the 1Password family account. Do I create the private vaults for all of my family members from the master account (me)? Or do they create their own private vault once they download the app?

    Welcome to 1Password.

    Neither. :) Each person's Private vault gets created as they are signing up for their account. For them to do so, you will need to send them an invitation. You can read about that process here:
