1Password not working

I have 1Password 7 on my Mac (Catalina). So far as I know, I have purchased a standalone licence for it, but I can't truthfully remember. I can open it and look things up on it, but I can't add anything new to it manually (secure notes, logins etc.) and it doesn't appear for autofill in Safari. So I don't know what's going on. Can you advise?
