Why did iPassword ask for my computer password last night?

Last night a popup appeared with the 1Password logo saying it needed my computer password. I put it in and then felt really weird. Can you assure me that this was 1Password and tell me why you did this? And if it wasn't can you advise me on what to do?

I acted on impulse and put it in and now am concerned. My membership subscription was activated after a one month trial and am hoping that's why.

    @ACD

    Yesterday, a new stable version of 1Password 7 was published, as well as a new beta. You would see a request for your password if 1Password needed to update various installation files.
