I have this weird problem where the fingerprint scanner is dimmed and doesn't read my fingerprint. Works fine in apps, firefox, Chrome canary, but not official chrome or chrome beta.

Isn't this forum monitored by support?

  • Hi @supbeez. In Android 10, we use the system's biometric unlock prompt. Unfortunately, it looks like OnePlus is overriding it with their own biometric prompt, which is what you're seeing in this picture.

When you use 1Password in Firefox, do you see the same prompt? Or do you see this?

This has just been fixed with latest chrome update (version 80.0.3987.117). I actually didn't see any prompt in either. It's just the fingerprint area either lit up and reading fingerprint in Firefox, or dimmed and not working in chrome.

  • Thanks for the update. I'm glad to hear that this is working better with a Chrome update!
