Warning of too many copies of 1pw

Frequently, when I boot my computer, I get a notice that I have too many copies of 1pw. These are on backup drives
I always chose "cancel" and don't let the copies be backed up
How do I avoid this dialogue box?

  • Hi @tommy,

We'd recommend excluding the 1Password application itself from your backups, and removing any copies already backed up there. There should only ever be one copy of 1Password connected to a system at any given time. If you do want to keep a copy of the app on a backup we'd recommend zipping the application and then backing up the ZIP file.

The problem is that I keep clones made with Carbon Copy cloner as backups. But thanks. Is cancelling updates of additional copies a problem?

If I am following your question correctly you would need to configure CCC to exclude the application. https://bombich.com/kb/ccc4/excluding-files-and-folders-from-backup-task
