Amount of data used by 1Password

Am trying to get set up in 1PW, but also live in an area without unlimited broadband (am on satellite internet). Just wondering how much data transfer occurs between 1PW on my computer/other devices and 1PW.com. How often is there data transfer? Generally how much data use occurs?

Hi @dca1! Welcome to the forum!

1Password will transfer data when you create or modify items inside the app, in order to keep your data in sync. It does this every time you make any changes to your data so it really depends on how you use it.

To add to what Ana said, you can minimize bandwidth usage in 1Password by:

1) Turning off the Rich Icons feature and not adding custom icons to items
2) Not storing large images or documents

Since 1Password is primarily storing text, and text doesn't take up very much disk space, I wouldn't anticipate great amounts of bandwidth usage. Where you start getting into higher bandwidth usage is when images, videos, documents, etc start becoming involved. But as Ana mentioned usage will vary significantly based upon what you're storing and how many devices you are syncing.
