click behaviour for 1 password mini varies between browser and the mac menu bar. Is it meant to?

I recently updated 1 password for desktop and using the chrome extension.
v 7.4.3
chrome-extension 4.7.5.90

When you click the chrome extension... 1 password opens.
Click it again, 1 password opens.
You have to click somewhere else for it to close...

Whereas

click the 1 password mini icon in the status menu on Mac--> 1password opens
click it again, 1 password closes.

Having both behaviours is annoying... The current chrome extension behaviour is super annoying.
Click to open, click to close seems more natural...

Well - I guess it's annoying because it's different to every other chrome extension I have.
And different to the 1password 6 which i was previously using
And different to the 1password status menu icon...

The lack of consistency is obtuse to me.
Why have 1 behaviour for the mac status bar, and a different behaviour for the chrome extension...?!

Here's a gif (I click twice on each icon):

• all chrome extension (2nd click closes) vs
• 1 password (2nd click reopens it) vs
• 1 password mini in status bar (2nd click closes)

This is on brave, but the same behaviour on chrome too...
