Sidebar jumps after drag-and-drop tag assignment

Not new behaviour but one that becomes rather annoying... When assigning an item to an existing tag using drag-and-drop to the sidebar, the sidebar scrolls back up to the category header of the selected list (Favourites, Logins, etc.). This makes it very time-consuming when trying to browse for items and assign them to a tag.

  • Hi @DougC

Thanks for the report. I'm not seeing this on my system when dragging and dropping items to tags, though. Could you please review this recording and let me know what I'm doing differently?

We'd like to track this down, so any pointers you can provide in doing so would be great. Thanks!

    Hi @Ben

Thanks for the quick reply. In order to replicate this behaviour you will need the left-hand sidebar to be scrollable, with the selected category header scrolled out of frame. I would suggest trying to replicate this by shrinking your window size, expanding the Watchtower and Categories sections, and adding more tags if necessary. I have several dozen tags in my database so I'm frequently scrolling to the bottom of the sidebar to access them, regardless of which sections are open. If that doesn't work, I can build a test vault and make a screen recording later today.

    Thanks!

  • Ah ha! Thanks Doug! With those suggestions I was able to reproduce the issue. I will file an issue for development to investigate further.
