MAS version of 7.5 requires total restart to work

Would it be possible to code MAS updates in such a way that you don't have to restart the computer, please?

Thanks for today's 7.5 update :-)

Unfortunately, it doesn't install the Safari (13.1 on 10.14.6) extension properly - even when relaunching Safari.

The only way I have found of being able to get the browser extension to work is by restarting my 'Late 2014' iMac.

Thanks!

  • Hi Mark,

Ideally that is how it would work, but it seems Safari in particular likes to hold on to the old version after updating. In my experience the version of 1Password downloaded from our website has less of a chance of having this problem, but it happens there as well. Quitting Safari before updating may help.

    Thanks, Ben.

1P is such a fantastic piece of software that it's worth it. Just that if there were any way around it, it'd be a good step forward.

Thanks - and stay well and safe!

Absolutely. 1Password isn't the only component involved here though, and is the only one we have control over. Hopefully as all of these integrated systems evolve we'll have less issues like this.

Thanks for the kind words. :)
