Save password

Hello,

I have been using Dashlane for a while and was considering switching to 1Password. I like most of the features 1Password has except one. Maybe you can help me on that.

Once I type in username and password AND click Login usually Dashline will ask me to save my credentials after successful login. Do I need to click on Save with 1Password before I login? https://support.1password.com/getting-started-1password-x/#save-a-login

Thank you

1Password Version: 7.5.1.BETA-0 (70501000)
Extension Version: 1.20.0
OS Version: 10.15.4
Sync Type: 1Password

    Hi @njelic!

You can click on Save with 1Password if you wish to save those credentials immediately, but 1Password X should also prompt you to save when you actually submit the login form. A little popup window appears asking you if you want to save the credentials you have just submitted. Have you found a website where this is not happening to you?

    Hi @ag_ana,

Thank you for your reply. I have tried multiple times at https://atom.finance/ even if I successfully login, 1Password doesn't ask me to save my password. I was making sure that I don't have credentials saved for this website before I was testing this out.

    Thank you

Also, I have tried to have a wrong password at my 1Password record and after typing in right password via https://atom.finance/ 1Password didn't offer me to update my current record. Am I doing something wrong?

Hey @njelic! Sorry for the confusion. When signing into an existing account while using 1Password X, you'll need to click the Save in 1Password option below the password field. However, if you're creating a brand new account, and you fill a suggested password using 1Password X, you'll be prompted to save the item. Here's a screencast showing how to save an item on https://atom.finance/ in case it helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

    Hello @kaitlyn ,

Thank you for clarification. I really don't like that. Most of the password managers offer you to save your password after successful login (Keeper, Dashlane, Bitwarden, LastPass).

If my 1Password X has password A and I use password B to login (since password A that 1Password has is not accurate anymore) would 1Password X offer me to update password?

    Thank you!

    @njelic:

1Password X currently does not do that at the moment, but the companion browser extension does. If this is an important feature for you, you can use this other extension for now (which will open a popup window asking you to update your 1Password item, if you are entering a new password during login).
