Hi @Mikeeilleen! Welcome to the forum!

I am sorry to hear about this. For your privacy and security, your Master Password is not stored anywhere, only you know it. This means that it is not possible to recover it unless you are a member of a Families or Business accounts. If you have an Individual account or a standalone license, I recommend reading this article to try and recover your Master Password.

If, on the other hand, you are part of a Families or Business account, you can ask another Admin to recover your account for you.

If you still cannot recover your Master Password, we can certainly delete your account so you can create a new one with a new Master Password you know.

Lease delete my account so I can start over
    Thank you!

  • Hi @Mikeeilleen, you can delete your account by following these steps:

    1. Go to https://start.1password.com/support
    2. Enter your email address and click Continue. You’ll get an email from 1Password.
    3. In the email, click "View my account". You’ll see a list of your 1Password accounts.
    4. Click the name of the account you want to delete.
    5. Scroll down and click Delete Account.

This will make the email address you used available again. Keep in mind that when you delete your account, you will lose any data stored in it. As ag_ana explained, part of what makes 1Password secure also means that we can't recover your items in situations like this.

To sign up for another account, head over to https://start.1password.com/sign-up/plan and follow the steps to set up a new account. If this was the only account you had added to 1Password and you had no standalone vaults, you'll also need to start over. To do this, open 1Password (you don't need to unlock it) and choose Help > Troubleshooting > Reset All 1Password Data from the menu bar after deleting your account with the steps above.

With your new account, make sure to download and print off (if you can) your Emergency Kit. You should also write in your Master Password on at least one copy of your Emergency Kit, just so you have it for future reference.

Let us know how you get on!

    Matthew
