I am a MAC user and also have Android devices they use 1Password, is this file still in use?

That depends on how you are using 1Password. Are you using Dropbox to sync your data?

To be honest, I am not sure how it syncs now, how can I tell?

If you open your 1Password for Mac app, do you see a vault named Primary? If you do, you can open 1Password Preferences > Sync tab, and you will see what sync method that vault is using.

If you do not see a Primary vault in the app, and you see no Sync tab in the Preferences, it means that you are syncing your data via 1Password.com (which does not use your Dropbox file).

Thanks, I can't find a primary vault so I'll assume I am using 1 Password sync

If you have a 1Password account added under Preferences > Accounts tab, then yes ;)
