    How does the local vault work? What encryption does it use? Is it safe to use it?

    Hi @samo

    We no longer recommend standalone vaults for most use cases, but that isn't because of a weakness of the encryption. You can read about the design of the OPVault format, including the encryption properties, in this guide:

    Instead of standalone vaults, we recommend our newer membership-based vaults. The security properties of those are documented here:
