Hi there,
just updated to 7.6.1.BETA-1 (build #70601001), and I needed to re-authorize the device (yes, I got perfectly why). Is possible to know how this switch from device-identifier to app-identifier improved security? Thanks in advance.

  • Hey @wizard86pz. Prior to making this change, we were deriving a device ID from the hardware identifier of your Android device. That identifier doesn't change, and it gave us more information than we needed. If you were to reinstall 1Password on the same device, you'd end up with the same ID. The new identifier is generated by the app, so it will change when you reinstall or sign back in, and it stops us from collecting any information that we don't strictly need.
