macOS Big Sur + 1Password X
Does this mean 1Password X may finally be coming to Safari?

There's a similar discussion going on in this thread.
Personally, I don't need/want 1Password X in Safari per se. Rather, it would just be nice to have some of the little touches that make 1Password X efficient, like presenting suggested logins when clicking on login form fields. For everything else, there's the desktop 1Password app.
Currently, it's strange that using the native 1Password app and Safari extension on macOS makes for a less efficient workflow than one gets when using the web-based 1Password X extension. It's as if customers are being penalized for using the native app.
I'm aware that this may have been out of 1Password's hands previously, as you've been at the mercy of Apple's limited Safari extension APIs. However, it's now been a month since the WWDC announcement of richer Safari extension APIs. Can we please get some clarity as to whether 1Password for Safari on macOS has any hope of catching up to 1Password X?
