I thought a short video might be beneficial here. I have created a test item and created a short video for you to show what happens when you click on the URL inside a Login item (in this example, for the Dropbox website):
As you can see, when you click on the URL, that website opens in your browser (I suppose that's what you meant when you wrote "start the website"), and your login information are filled in the login form.
