I am not able to initially sign into the 1password app on my iPhone

I have 1password downloaded and working on my Mac, but I am not able to sign into the iOS app on my iPhone. I have tried using the QR code and manually entering the info. I have deleted the iOS app, restarted the phone, downloaded a new emergency kit and tried the process again both with scanning and manually. One interesting thing to note is that when I enter the master password through the iPhone the smart key line is replaced by my email so the login has the sign in website, my email address, my email address and the master password. When I do it this way, the app says the smart key is incorrect. When I enter all the info manually, the app says invalid login information. Any suggestions?
