Item count within each category not showing up anymore

I remember seeing the item count on each of my categories when I open the 1P app but now it's not showing up anymore. I can only see the count for All Items and the top and Trash at the very bottom. Any idea what could be happening?

    did you turn off the item counts preference on the General settings tab in the preferences window by mistake?

    Haha, thanks Rudy. That was actually the first thing I checked but for some reason it was not updating automatically. Case closed :)
