1Password does not work after installing ExpressVPN

MacBook Pro 13 Retina mid-2014. MacOS Mojave 10.14.6. Chrome Version 85.0.4183.102 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Installed the latest version of ExpressVPN. Connected and began using it. Disconnected ExpressVPN.

1Password main app no longer shows the main login window and cannot be terminated by pressing Quit (only Force Quit works). 1Password mini app in the browser doesn't appear.

Troubleshooting steps:

  • Disabled ExpressVPN Chrome extension and restarted Chrome. Same problem.
  • Restarted the computer and did not activate ExpressVPN.
  • Everything works.

It appears that 1Password does not work as soon as ExpressVPN has been used once.

    Hi @cfm56d7b!

    1Password should work without problems even with an active VPN. Indeed, I am using one myself, and 1Password works with or without the VPN on. However, my VPN does not have a browser extension, so I wonder if it's actually the browser extension of the VPN that is interfering with 1Password.

    If you create a new Chrome profile with just 1Password, and you keep the VPN browser extension in the other, are things working as expected?
