Authenticator for synchronization

When I opened the program, I entered new data into my account, and the program asked for an authenticator for synchronization. Before that, the authenticator was never asked when creating new data in the application. This is normal? Or is my computer a virus? I'm afraid to enter an authenticator.

You would need to enter a one-time password to sign in if you've setup two-factor authentication for your 1Password account using TOTP with an authenticator app. The only way to enable that is through your 1Password account settings in your web browser, so you would have needed to either have enabled that yourself, or given someone else your account credentials in order for them to be able to do so. If you did not enable two-factor authentication for your account, please contact us via email at support@1password.com so that the security team can work with you to take any necessary steps.
