Odd browser extension icon in Brave
Hello,
Sometime in the last few weeks I noticed that the icon for the regular browser extension (not 1Password X) in Brave included an extra icon next to it. Here's a screenshot showing the extra icon.
Is this a bug with the extension or a new feature in Brave? I'm asking here on the forum because I don't use any other extensions.
Here are the details of my environment:
macOS: 10.14.6
1Password.app: 1Password 7, Version 7.6 (70600005), 1Password Store
1Password extension (desktop app required): 4.7.5.90
Brave: Version 1.14.84 Chromium: 85.0.4183.121
1Password Version: 7.6
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: macOS 10.14.6
Sync Type: Not Provided

Of course, two minutes later I figured out it's a feature in Brave.
If anyone else wants to disable it, you can disable it by accessing Brave's experiments by going to
brave://flags/#extensions-toolbar-menu
, then selecting "disable" in the dropdown box.0 -
The puzzle piece is actually a feature introduced in Brave's upstream source provider Google Chrome to fold infrequently used extensions up into a menu.
The other option would be to click the puzzle piece and choose which browser extension is pinned to the left of it (you can pin multiple different ones) or use the manage extensions function to enable/disable extensions themselves.
