Face I. D. Question.......Again

For days I have been trying to find out the answer. Face id sign in works on my Ipad about once every 25 times. Very irregular. I have done everything suggested in the forums. All the suggestions here have been followed already. Any new answers?

Yes, I changed the settings, I restarted, I reinstalled. Is there an answer for this or will I just get the same pat answers I have seen here a dozen times?
