Where is 1Password now?

I don’t understand where my passwords are all kept now? It used to be a little vault thingy in Dropbox but that all changed and ever since I’m confused about it. Where is the vault thing now? Is it in some cloud somewhere or something? Don’t I need to back it up somewhere???

Did you switch sync methods some time ago? Or perhaps signed up for a 1Password.com account?

Hi there, yes I signed up for the subscription.

Thank you for the confirmation. In this case, your data is hosted on 1Password.com. When you use 1Password.com to sync your data, backups are taken automatically so you don't have to worry about that anymore ;)

Is it really “your” server now?

The Security White Paper seems to suggest you rent(ed?) Amazon servers:

1Password For Teams presently stores all database information using an Amazon Web Services Aurora database instance.

So AWS is only software and Agilebits is the owner of the hardware?

Are the servers in third-party data centers or in-house?
