Firefox 83.0 and 1Password extension no longer functions
Hi. I am having similar issues as listed above after updated 1Password to version 7.7
I applied all your documented suggestions outlined above, and nothing restored 1Password functionality within Firefox.
When Firefox is in focus, the Firefox Extension within the browser menu does not function. Also, when Firefox is in active focus, the 1Password menu object with the upper right MacOS menu does not function either. The App itself works just fine. The extensions are at the heart of the problem.
However, if you navigate to another browser [Safari and Chrome], the extensions in both scenarios listed above work return to their expected behaviors.
The functionality as I pointed out above replicate on my MacPro 2013, MacBookPro 2015 and 2016, and AirBook 2016
Listed below is both the hardware and software details:
MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 is running on all devices
Firefox 83.0 is running on all devices
1Password 7.7 is running on all devices
1Password Extention 4.7.5.90
I am wondering if I could perhaps roll be to an older edition of the software?
Appreciate any guidance you might offer and happy holidays.
David

As noted in my original note above, I indicated I followed the steps above was referring to the following community post, and the steps that both you and @Chrysippus suggested. See: https://1password.community/discussion/comment/580193#Comment_580193
I performed the following steps to no avail:
Quit the browser completely.
Look for 1Password helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click on the helper and select quit 1Password completely. Wait a few seconds and then open 1Password from the Dock or the Applications folder.

Hi @ag_ana & @Chrysippus
I fixed the issue by rolling back to version 7.6. I have saved all my past versions of 1Password in the event a situation like this would occur.
Only version 7.7 disables the extensions in both Firefox and Brave. However, I tested 7.7 with Safari, and it works just fine.
I gather that going forward with any future 1Password updates is not recommended, and I have disabled the update feature as you suggested.
I wish you all the best and wishing everyone at Agilebits happy holidays.
David

Thank you for the update! Our official recommendation is to keep 1Password up-to-date, and your operating system as well. Therefore, please consider updating from macOS 10.12.6 to a later version when you have a chance, so that 1Password 7 is completely supported on your operating system :+1:
Happy holidays to you too!

Hello again.
Thank you for the suggestion; unfortunately, upgrading would render me unemployed as many of the apps I use are 32-bit that interface with my clients. My clients are primarily PC based, and MacOS apps will not be updated on their end, sadly. I would need to leave the Apple platform entirely and go PC/Windows 10 Pro. I prefer to use MacOS.
Fortunately, the several iterations of MacOS offer, on the surface, no compelling reasons to update other than to move to a subscription model, some pretty elements and APP that on a professional level are not useful.
MacOS Sierra is excellent and still a joy to use.

Staying on an old version of macOS is certainly your prerogative @golucid :+1: :) I really hope that some of the apps you use will be updated sooner or later however, so you don't have to keep using Sierra forever and can benefit from all the updates in macOS and 1Password moving forward.
