Regenerate Public/Private Key Pair

From the 1Password interface, it is possible to change the Master Password and regenerate the Secret Key. However, if I want to go one step further and regenerate the public/private key pairs that are used to encrypt the actual data, how do I go about doing that?

  • Hi @wizmo,

You're right that changing the Master Password or Secret Key only changes the Master Unlock Key and not your user's public/private keypair. Currently the best way to regenerate the public/private keypair for a user is to put the user through Recovery. Doing this will have the user generate a new keypair, and the completion step will re-encrypt all dependent keys with the new public key.

    Cheers.
