1Password X on my Macbook and Chrome will not complete login to 1Password.com (I think)

I am new to 1Password and now trying to use 1Password X on my Macbook and Chrome. I have 1PX as the only extension active. 1P is still there but inactive. When I click the 1PX icon it asks me to log in and then acts as if it is having trouble connecting. I can log into 1P.com without a problem. I signed in and let 1PX run for 10 minutes in hopes that it was setting up or syncing but it just seems to be hung up with the sign in circle repeating.

Welcome to 1Password

I'm not sure what exactly is happening there, perhaps you are using a VPN or a firewall of some sort that blocks 1Password X's access to our servers?
In any case, please try this:

1. Right click the 1Password X extension icon on the top right corner of your browser (might be hiding inside the grey puzzle icon) and select "Remove from Chrome".
2. Download and install 1Password X again: https://support.1password.com/getting-started-1password-x/
3. After you install it, a new tab will launch with a welcome screen asking you sign in to your account. Ignore it and close that tab.
4. Go to https://my.1password.com and sign into your account.
5. A moment after you sign in, you should see a notification pop up on the top right corner of your screen, asking you if you'd like to add that account - confirm and add it. That's 1Password X's popup asking you if you'd like to add this account to it.

If all went well, you should have a working 1Password X extension. In case that didn't help, I'd suggest you try these steps on a new user profile in Chrome. Here's how to create a new user profile and switch to it: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2364824
