Synching three machines with a new iMac fully and correctly?
I have been a subscriber for 10 years to I Password. I use Password 7 on our IPhone, IPad, Mac Air, and iMac. They have been synchonized. But in recently upgrading to a new I Mac 2020 we have only an older synchronised IPassword (20 fewer items on it) now. We want all the machines synchronised, but don’t want the older version on the new Mac 2020 to corrupt the others. Can you help me? I've been trying to email for someone's help for nearly six months! Maybe somebody in this forum can respond and guide me, or tell me who to contact and how? Thanks, Jerry Van. Voorhis
1Password Version: Version 7
Extension Version: not sure
OS Version: 15.7 (IMac 2020); 14.2 (cell phone)
Sync Type: not sure

Hi @CrownMeadow101! Welcome to the forum!
Can you help me? I've been trying to email for someone's help for nearly six months!
Can you let us know the ticket number you received when you emailed us, so we can see the previous discussion?
In the meantime, can you please confirm what sync method you are currently using for your 1Password data?

I don't recall getting a ticket number, but here is what I wrote in trying to get guidance from someone: I have been a subscriber for 10 years to I Password. But in recently upgrading to a new I Mac 2020 we have only an older synchronised IPassword (20 fewer items on it) now. Thank you for the clarification! It is important here to know what sync method you are using. Are you syncing your data with iCloud, Dropbox or 1Password.com?
If you don't know, we can help you find out. I would like to ask you to generate a diagnostics report from your Mac and email it to us to support+forum@agilebits.com, so we can take a closer look at why this is happening to you.
After you have sent the email, please feel free to post the ticket number you received so we can locate your message and connect it with this forum discussion.
Looking forward to your message!

I recall Password telling me they had a way not to be part of ICloud for reasons of security, but out of an affinity with Apple and its graphics created an arrangement to be "linked" to iCloud. That, three or four years ago, is what we did. So, yes, I linked to the Cloud but right now don't remember more than that. Thanks, and I hope this helps.

It may be best to contact us using email, where we can work with you to determine your specific setup and help you resolve your questions. Ana linked to instructions for creating a diagnostic report in her most recent post above yours. Could you do that? Then send that report to us via email using
support+forum@agilebits.com
.We would love to help.

Ana or Tommy, I first supplied, then had my email removed by policy and privacy, in order to start to resolve my issues in synchronisation. My latest email from you was January 20, so a week ago. I'm a little surprised there have been no communications since that point to help resolve my issues. Could someone be in touch and let me know where we are in this process and next steps perhaps, Many thanks, Jerry Van Voorhis

Can you please contact us via email so we can discuss your situation? We removed the email for your privacy. When you write to us we will be able to gather additional details about your setup that we cannot do here. Such as a diagnostic report. We look forward to hearing from you.

Do you mind my asking what contacting you via email here means. Do I just send a note like this? Or do you need an original description of the problem? And what address do I use to reach you - an Ipassword email, or a specific name, or both? Thanks for your help and clarity here...

Please see my previous instructions in this discussion: send us an email with a diagnostics report and we will be happy to take a look at your configuration :+1:

Any helpful counsel on how to email you today further?

I am not sure I understand the question, can you please clarify? Thank you!

I have tried to follow the instructions on getting the diagnostic report downloaded, done, and sent (yesterday), using the email in your instructions. Did it get there okay? I actually sent it twice since one did not show the text after sending, and one did show it. Please let me know it came when you can and thank you! Jerry Van Voorhis

We can check this for you. Have you received a ticket number after you sent us the email? With that number, I can locate the message in the system for you :+1:

I got a report response, and here is the number we think you wanted - [#UMU-62766-587]. The essence of the note, to which I've not yet responded, is this (just to coordinate with you right now). I am, however, already a subscriber, so don't know how that modifies what Greig Allen just wrote from Scotland. Thanks for your continuing advice on whether I just follow out with him, or continue to involve you both, etc?
Hey Jerry,
I am sorry to hear you are having problems with 1Password just now, no need to worry though I'm here now to try and help resolve it 🙂
Can I ask, have you had a look at our handy iCloud troubleshooting guide? If not, I would highly recommend following the guide below, it should help you here with your iCloud syncing issue here:
https://support.1password.com/icloud-troubleshooting/
We do recommend switching to our new 1Password membership service, though, since it is a lot more reliable than syncing via third-party sync services such as iCloud or Dropbox. With a 1Password membership, you won’t have to worry about dealing with licensing and you can easily use 1Password on all your devices. Simply sign into your 1Password membership account and all of your 1Password data is there. You can learn more here:
https://support.1password.com/explore/membership/
To migrate over to a 1Password membership all you need to do is follow this super handy guide:
https://support.1password.com/migrate-1password-account/
Since you’ve been such a loyal customer for so long we’d be happy to give you your first year completely free. Let me know what email address your new 1Password membership is associated with once you have migrated over and we’ll apply the free year.
Thanks,

Thank you for the update! I confirm that I have managed to locate your message in our system :+1: So we don't keep two discussions on the same topic, I am going to close this forum one so you can continue with Greig via email, and keep everything in one place.
