I would like to store a block of text in a field as a text area, so that it's hidden by default.

I would like to be able to store a block of text in a 1Password entry that's concealed by default. It is a mix between a note and a password field. The problem with using a password field as I have been doing is that it does not recognize newlines in the text, so multiple lines become one long line.

I have come up with a few reasons to use this, one being safely storing 2FA recovery codes; one per line. Another being some multi-line secret like a private SSL certificate.

I could also link a file to this, but it's nice to have a single entry with everything I need. Also, the mobile app doesn't deal with creating files in entries.

Thank you.

    Hi @berto!

If I understand this correctly, would a multi-line field work for you for this?

Yes, a multi-line field that is hidden like a password field.

    Thanks!
