unlock 1Password on Mac with iPhone

Hi there,
is there a possibility to unlock 1password on the iphone while using it on the mac?

my usecase:

  • on mac: browsing a website and need to put in password-
  • to unlock 1password i could either type my looooong master-password or us the touch-ID on my macbook. But normaly my macbook is closed, so i am looking for a more simple authentication and was wondering, if i could unlock it via the iphone?

    Hi @fredfunkel! Welcome to the forum!

    Unlocking 1Password for Mac with your iPhone is currently not possible I am afraid :(

    However, if you have a supported Mac and an Apple Watch however, you can use Watch unlock:

    Use your Apple Watch to unlock 1Password on your Mac

    ok, thanks. i do not have a watch.
    BUT: if unlock on Watch is possible, why not in iphone?

    I have heard back from our developers, and I was told that there is no API that allows us to implement this directly on the iPhone.

    Hey @fredfunkel, it sounds like your use case here is frequently having to unlock 1Password when you're using an external keyboard and monitor, is that right?

    If that's the case adjusting your autolock settings might help.

    Then you wouldn't have to type your Master Password as often, or open your MacBook to use Touch ID to unlock.
