Cannot install 1 Password upgrade from 11-20-20, after installing apple upgrade of Big Sur

The app works. When I first tried to upgrade in November, it would tell me the app couldn't be upgraded because it was open. After multiple tries and force quits, I have still not been able to upgrade. Now I get a message saying "Unable to Close 1Password" & "The update for 1Password 7 couldn't be completed. Try again later." Can someone please help me with this problem?

1Password Version: 7.6
Extension Version: 7.6
OS Version: Big Sur 11.1
Sync Type: iCloud

I have not been able to install 1Password upgrade from Nov 20, 2020, after I installed Big Sur. It originally told me to close the app, when it was already closed. But still wouldn't install. Now it just gets to the end of the installation and tells me it couldn't be completed and try again later. App seems to be working ok, but I do lose the plug-in (extension) every time a major upgrade comes out. That usually corrects itself in time, after turning computer on and off multiple times.

Can anybody help with the upgrade issue?

    Hi @vjpankau!

Can you please try quitting 1Password completely (right-click on 1Password mini in the menu bar at the top right of your screen > Quit 1Password Completely), and then relaunch 1Password? Are you able to continue with the update now?

Yes, I've done this many times, and I am still unable to update 1Password

Please try follow steps to replace the app.

    1. Quit all open web browsers.
    2. Look for our helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click on the helper and select quit 1Password completely.
    3. Drag 1Password from the Applications folder to the Trash. Do not use an "app cleaner" or "uninstaller" tool to remove the app or additional files. If prompted, enter the password you use to sign in to your Mac.
    4. Restart the Mac.
    5. Download the latest version of 1Password from the 1Password website.
    6. Quit any open web browsers and then install 1Password.
    7. Open and unlock 1Password before opening your web browser.

Let us know how it goes.

    Any other suggestions?

If you replace the app there would be no need to update. You'll have the newest version. Are you still being prompted to update after replacing the app? Can you provide a screenshot of what you see. * Be sure not to include sensitive information here in the forum. This is for your protection as it's a public place.
