Why does 1Password disable all other app/global keyboard shortcuts when it's open?

Anytime I open 1password (app, mini, or browser extension) all my other keyboard (and mouse), shortcuts are disabled.

Example:
I have a text expander app running and would like to quickly type my keyboard shortcut to enter my full email address rather than typing it out in full every time. As soon as I have a 1password window open I can't use my auto-complete shortcut, or any shortcuts.

Please advise. Thanks.

That's due to Secure Input. It helps ensure that no other apps are snooping on data you are entering and protecting you against key loggers.

I was going to ask the same question.

I need Type Expander/Typinator to be able to use my machine as I have nerve damage in my hands. It is an absolute must have. If you take this away under the pretext of keyloggers and other snooping software, etc. you should also pay the consequences...I wonder if you'd accept paying my medical bills taking away functionality I must have to use my machine.

I must say, 1Password7 is proving to be an unusable, over protective, even medically hurting piece of software. Even Search and Replace in text fields don't work and the workaround needs 3 times as much time as it did before, is extremely error prone for me because of the above mentioned hand problems and all in all for me 1Password is evolving into an unusable mess.
