Autofill Favorite for work account
I connect to many websites for my work account. I marked my work account as a favorite and do not list all the URLs in the 1password entry.
When I connect to websites by IP, I do not get a suggestions for my favorites. I do get favorite suggestions if I use a FQDN.
Is there a way to always have favorites in the suggestions?

Hey @PaulSue ,
You can set 1Password to open to Favorites instead of suggestions, but that will impact all websites you visit and will only show your favorites instead of relevant suggestions. If you'd still like to try that:
- Open your browser.
- Right click the 1Password extension icon on the top right corner and select "Settings".
- In the settings page that opens, scroll down to the "General" section and set "Open 1Password To: Favorites".
The other way to handle this issue is to add any and all addresses (IPs included) into the login item's details:
- Open your 1Password and find the login for this website.
- Select it and click on "Edit".
- While in edit mode, you'll see an empty "website" field under the username, password and the current website URL. Add any other URL or IP that may be valid for this website there.
- You can repeat step 3 as many times as needed. A new empty "website" field will show up whenever you add another URL.
- When you are done, click on "Save" to save the changes. Now 1Password will suggest this login item on all of the URLs and IPs you added into the login item.

I have only been able to get this to work by adding the mass of IPs to the login item. There does not seem to be a way to have a favorite suggested when I connect to an IP that I did not list. It would have been great for a suggestion of favorites for unknown IP sites.
It does always suggest my identity items. I need to remove those and covert them to notes. I dont need my drivers license info suggested for logins.

Yes, under Settings | General | Open 1Password to Favorites.
Favorites do work with a FQDN in the URL. It does not work if I use an IP address in the URL.

Hey @PaulSue ,
I think you might be looking at the wrong place. The setting to open 1Password to favorites or suggestions is for the extension's popup window (when you click the extension icon on the top right corner of your browser), not for the inline menu. The inline menu will always open to suggestions no matter what, because it has to suggest relevant actions to the page you are currently visiting.
If you want to utilize favorites, call the popup by clicking the extension's icon (or by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+X) and you should see your favorites there, which you can navigate through with your keyboard's arrow keys and autofill using the Enter button if you prefer keyboard shortcuts.

Upon reading your initial message again, I'm not quite sure what you are trying to achieve.
If you want to use the same login item for multiple websites, marking it as a favorite won't work. 1Password will only autofill login items if the URL matches, so the correct method would be to indeed add all IP's / URLs into the same login item.Matching the URL of the login item to the website you are visiting is an important security mechanism, which is why we do not allow autofilling any login item in any website unless the URL matches.
Is that more to the point or am I missing your intentions?

Ah, yes, Favorites always show when opening the extension popup. It does not give a fill option so to use that process it would require a drag and drop username and another drag and drop of password.
I'm looking for the Favorite suggestion in the field of the web page, which works great for FQDN, not for IP.

I'm looking for the Favorite suggestion in the field of the web page, which works great for FQDN, not for IP.
If you have an item marked as favorite, all it does in the inline menu is putting that favorite on the top of the list of suggestions, but only if the URL matches the login item's URL.
So let's say I have 5 different logins for gmail, but only one of them is marked as a favorite, when I visit gmail then the favorite one will show up first in the inline menu. However, if I visit amazon.com, that gmail favorite item will not show up at all because it is a different website.
So to apply that to IP addresses, let's say I have five different logins for 10.0.0.1 and one of them is a favorite. If I visit 10.0.0.1 they will all be suggested and the favorite one would be on top. However, if I visit 10.0.0.2 (or any other IP), none would be suggested whatsoever, because it is a different URL (which is also why you can't autofill but rather have to drag and drop). 1Password will not allow autofilling on URL's (or IP's) that do not match the one in the login item's details.
Does that apply to your situation?
