1PW doesn't work with BoA webpage
Just wanted to update my BoA password and 1PW isn't working. It almost locked me out because it didn't update the generated password for my account on the login screen. Had to change it to a less secure one that I remembered and then got into my account. Then when I looked up what 1PW saved nothing. I tried to change the password to a more save one after I could enter my account. After 1PW generated a password it couldn't paste it in the field. So frustrating. Couldn't even find a way to manually generate a password to copy paste it in the form because I couldn't find the password generator. Where did it go?
Oh and each time I login it asked me to update my login information even though I haven't changed anything.

Hey @MarcoG .
Bank of America's website is a known problematic site. Seems like they're going out of their ways to prevent people from using password managers! However, I hope my next suggestions will help you work around their roadblocks.
- How to reach the password generator in Safari: https://support.1password.com/safari/#create-a-custom-password
Since they do not allow 1Password to autofill new passwords into the designated fields, it is best indeed if you copy the generated password and paste it into both your 1Password login entry of Bank of America, and into the field on the website, so both 1Password and the website will accept your new password.
When you log into your account, they do some weird voodoo magic that turns the password you entered into actual asterisks(!), which triggers 1Password's save/update prompt because it thinks you've entered a different password than the one it has in store. You can either disregard that prompt and say no thank you whenever 1Password asks you to update/save your login, or you can add Bank of America's website to 1Password's exclusions list, preventing it from prompting you again:
- Open and unlock the 1Password 7 desktop app.
- Click the "1Password" menu on the top left next to the Apple logo and select "Preferences".
- In the preferences window that pops up, Select the "Browsers" tab.
- In the text box near the bottom, put in "bankofamerica.com" (without the quotes).
- Close the preferences window, right click the little 1Password icon in your Mac's menu bar (where the clock is) and select "Quit 1Password completely".
- Quit Safari as well.
- Open and unlock 1Password, then launch Safari and 1Password will no longer prompt you to update/save on B of A's website.
Let me know if you've managed or if something is still not right.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply. That really helped me wit the issue. Indeed I ran into the issue with the asterisks and I thought I go crazy because I couldn't explain how that could have happened LOL.

Glad I could help! :)
Hopefully we will be able to bypass Bank of America's (and similar banking websites) unnecessary login forms mechanisms in the future.
