Firefox plugin not working in private windows
I gave the Firefox plugin permission to work in private windows (confirmed in Extension Preferences), but it does not work. The icon appears in the top-right corner (colored, not greyed out, as if it were functioning), but nothing happens when I click on it, and no 1Password prompts ever appear.
1Password Version: 7.7
Extension Version: 1.23.0
OS Version: 11.1

Hey @bp123 ,
If you have the "Always use private browsing" option enabled in Firefox's settings, it prevents 1Password from initializing properly and writing the necessary files to Firefox's local storage.
Please disable "Always use private browsing", start a regular browsing window and launch 1Password, it should open up correctly and initialize. After that, you can open private browsing windows and it should work properly.

Aha, thanks. I did that once but I didn't realize I would need to do that every time I quit & reopened Firefox.
Consider this a feature request, then - I would love it if there was a way for that initialization to persist! "Always private browsing" is my use case for Firefox.

I wish we could do that @bp123 , but Firefox's API does not allow extensions to write into local storage when "Always use private browsing" because it also enables other restricting options by default (such as "Never remember history"), and that combination prevents the extension from working.
I guess it is one of those cases where Firefox is too strict for your own good :)
