Sugesstion: Button to open the vault in 1Password X
Hello people,
I love 1Password X on Windows systems because the browser extension associated with the program does not work as well as the classic browser extension on the Mac. For example, the classic 1Password extension for Windows doesn't have an auto-fill feature when you generate a password.
(That's how it was the last time I used the classic extension).
My small suggestion is related to 1Password X for Windows:
It would be great if there was a button in 1Password X that opens the current vault in a new tab. Means if you currently have only the Shared Vault selected and you click on "Open Vault" then the Shared Vault should be opened in a new tab.
Thanks for reading.

Hi @Mattis!
Thank you for the suggestion! I would like to understand your request a little bit more: can you please clarify how this feature would into your workflow? For example: if you are already viewing the vault inside 1Password X, why would you want to switch to the web app? Is it personal preference, or are you missing a feature from 1Password X which is instead available on the 1Password.com website?
Thank you!

Hi @ag_ana!
Thank you for asking. I am happy to answer your question: Actually, both are true. I love to manage 1Password on the web because everything is in one place and I can manage my credentials there. The home page with the overview of the vaults is very clear and I like the design very much.
But it is also true that I miss a feature in 1Password X that is available at 1Password.com. The watchtower function is available under 1Password.com, but not in 1Password X. I love the watchtower feature because I can easily identify weak and compromised passwords there.
I would like to see this feature in 1Password X.
One more thing: But I also think that the overview in the watchtower on 1Password.com with the diagram should also be integrated in the apps for Mac and Windows.
I hope I didn't confuse you.
Enjoy the rest of day.
Greetings from Germany.

Hi @ag_ana!
It's my pleasure to help you to improve 1Password.
I use 1Password.com only on my Windows PC. On my Mac I absolutely love the desktop application. The reason why I prefer 1Password.com over the desktop app on my Windows PC is simple:
I think the desktop app for Windows is not so good as the desktop app for the Mac.
For example: I can't rename vaults or changing the icon from vaults on the Windows app.I also love the design of the Mac app much more than the design of the Windows app.
You mean the desktop apps includes all of this:
I think the overview in Watchtower (with the bar, which displays the strength of the passwords) is not available in the desktop app yet, right? Thanks for reading.
Have a wonderful day.

Thanks again, @Mattis. Feedback like this really does help to continuously improve 1Password. We appreciate it! :chuffed:
Just to make sure I'm clear, is this the feature you're referring to in the 1Password web app?

I'll be honest and say that Windows isn't my daily driver – I specialize in 1Password in the browser, myself. I do know that Watchtower is implemented in the 1Password for Windows app (as you can see here), but I'm not certain if the exact feature you're looking for exists in any of the native apps. Let me know if the above screenshot matches what you're looking for, and I should have a more solid answer for you.

Hi @kaitlyn!
With pleasure.
That's exactly what I mean. This is the bar I mean. And you are right, this bar only exists on 1Password.com and in no app so far. That's why I made this suggestion. This bar with the indicator would be great in the apps (Windows & Mac).
It would also be great if you could view the objects that have the status "Terrible" or the status "Weak" - so that you can change the passwords.
Have a great day.

Hey @Mattis ,
Thanks for clarifying.Watchtower does show notifications inside login items and passwords that have a weak/vulnerable/reused password in all of our apps and extensions.
Here's an example of a watchtower notification from 1Password in the browser (previously known as 1Password X):The web app does have a nice little graphical bar to show the overview that the desktop apps do not have, but you can still have a clear view of what is happening in Watchtower while using the desktop apps.
This is what the Windows app's watchtower looks like:
And this is what it looks like on a Mac:
You'll be happy to learn that we're currently working on unifying all of our apps so that they'll look and work the same on all platforms, so hopefully that will make you love the Windows app just like you love the Mac app, so there's definitely good things in store :)
Thank you for your suggestions and feedback here, it is greatly appreciated!
