1password not working in Chrome

Hi There,

1Password isn't working in Chrome and each time I try to install it, the extension asks me to log in to a 1Password web account which I don't use.

How do I install 1Password from Chrome?

I'm sorry for the trouble. 1Password in the browser only works with our membership offerings. You'll need to switch to our classic extension which supports non-membership setups.

Does anyone know why that extension no longer shows up when you install extensions from the 1Password app?

Is the extension hidden behind the puzzle piece? If so, click the puzzle icon and then find 1Password and click the pin option.

When I choose 'Install Browser Extension' from the 1Password app, I get taken to this page in Chrome: https://1password.com/downloads/mac/#browsers

When I click to install the Chrome extension, I get taken to this page: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/1password-–-password-mana/aeblfdkhhhdcdjpifhhbdiojplfjncoa

But this is the incorrect extension for app users - right?

Shouldn't the app send you to the right extension?

At the bottom of the page linked above is a different download link to the classic extension. I copied it to save you from needing to go on a scavenger hunt. Here is the one you will need to use. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/1password-extension-deskt/aomjjhallfgjeglblehebfpbcfeobpgk

But @sciascia is right! The link in the desktop app should point to this extension which works together with it and that's the classic extension. Actually it is not right to point to the "normal" extension formerly known as 1Password X. ;)

The Windows desktop app points to this link: https://op7.agilebits.com/extensions
But it should also point to this link: https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/

Sometimes when the "normal" extension works together with the desktop app it would be okay to point to this extension. :)

A newer version of the app has not been released to reference the recent link changes. It'll get there. We need just a bit more time. :)

Thanks @DanalB, I thought I was going crazy!

I've spent months with 1Password not working in Chrome, constantly removing/re-installing, reading help docs etc. It's been incredibly frustrating sorry.
