1password and/or the icon route does not recognize web sites or fill them in. Cut and paste required
If I pull up a password item in 1Password, then click the "open and fill" command, this rarely works to fill in the username and password, or many times even pull up the website. The icon in the menu bar acts the same. If you try to use the icon to do the fill, it does not recognize the password item you selected. This now requires you to pull up the item again from the icon mode. Then the icon mode rarely executes a fill in. As a final resort, I am forced to do a cut and past of both, or drag and drop.

Hey @dmrgnacnt_runbox_com. Which web browser are you in, and which 1Password extension do you see installed if you check your list of installed extensions?

Thank you for responding. Firefox 85.0.2. This is the latest version. 1Password extension has this title "1Password extension (desktop app required)--Extends the 1Password app on your Mac or Windows PC, so you can fill and save passwords in your browser."

Thank you for the confirmation. Can you please clarify this part in your original comment?
If you try to use the icon to do the fill, it does not recognize the password item you selected.
What do you mean by "not recognize"? Do you see the login for the website when you click on the extension button?

I have a similar problem. I'm running the "desktop app required" version as well, and the little 1Password icon doesn't appear in the username/password boxes. I have to go to the icon in the taskbar to get any information. With the regular extension, I could fill that way, but I needed to constantly switch between my 2 accounts.

This is normal: only the newer extension shows up directly in the form fields, the classic extension can be called by clicking on the icon in the browser, or with the Cmd + backslash keyboard shortcut :+1:
