how can I stop 1password from automatically popping up?
often the popups will block what I am working on. I would rather just pull 1password up when I need it.

Hi @rossignol1950! Welcome to the forum!
You can disable the 1Password inline menu in 1Password Preferences > Browsers tab and unchecking the option named Automatically show inline menu when selecting a field ;)

The quickest way is to use the Cmd+, (cmd and comma keys at the same time) keyboard shortcut when 1Password is open.

Your Private vault and Personal vault are the same, and only you can access and see what is in it. While the Shared vault is where everyone can see and share its contents. Since they function differently, you can't combine them.
