Chrome extension is not working

I just installed Chrome on my MacBook Pro running Big Sur. I installed the extension (it shows up in the extensions and the toolbar), but the icon in the toolbar has a little lock on it. When I tap on the 1Password icon in the toolbar, a window opens in the browser asking my to sign into 1Password using my email, password and Secret Key. When I try to fill a page using my keyboard shortcut of CMD-\, I get a box telling me to install the 1Password extension for Chrome even though the extension is already installed. 1Password is working just fine in Safari.

1Password Version: 7.7
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: 11.2.1

    Hey @jburdick ,

1Password in Chrome is currently a standalone version that does not connect to the 1Password desktop app like it does in Safari.
Its keyboard shortcut is CMD+SHIFT+X, but you first need to log into your 1Password.com account when it asks you to in order to activate the extension.

Once it is activated and unlocked, you'll be able to start using it and enjoying all of its features, as shown here: https://support.1password.com/getting-started-browser/

If you prefer, you can install the good old 1Password Classic extension instead, which will connect to the desktop app and work with CMD+\ , but will not show up on its own inside usernames/password fields and all the other awesome features: https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/

I hope that clarifies the situation :)
