1password main app gets stuck on macos after making a change

Dear everyone

I run 1password on macos 11.2.1 and it keeps getting stuck every now and then after a change to any of my stored credentials, or fields for an existing record.

When that happens the only solution for me is to force kill the app and start again (it would stay in such a state forever otherwise).
While the app is stuck I can't browse any other record, search or fill with the browser extension.

I tried uninstalling 1password and removing all the files and folder from the filesystem as for the KB article and run a fresh new installation. But I'm experiencing the same problem again just after a few days.

How can I share with you logs/debug info to help you troubleshoot my issue?

1Password Version: 7.7
Extension Version: 4.7.5.90
OS Version: 11.2.1

We have a working fix in our betas. If you're up to using a beta, you can give that a try. If betas are not your thing, the next release should help.

    Use 1Password beta releases

Until the next release, you can also try giving 1Password a complete quit when this happens.

    • Look for our helper in the menu bar near the WiFi indicator and the clock. Right-click on the helper and select quit 1Password completely. Wait a few seconds and then open 1Password from the Dock or the Applications folder.

Hi @ag_tommy that's great. If you say that a fix is in progress I'll wait. As I explain in my comment above when the app gets stuck the only way to get out of the situation is to force close. However, looking forward to trying the next release.

  • Hopefully soon. :chuffed:
