How to disable new Chrome input widget "Use passwords saved in your Google Account"
It seems Chrome has a new feature where it prompts to use / save passwords from a user's Google Account (even if you don't turn Sync on). This widget annoyingly sits over the top of the 1Password extension.
- Is it possible to disable this via chrome://flags or similar?
- Can I request an update to the 1Password extension so that when you have "Make 1Password the default password manager" it disables this prompt by default?
FYI I'm using 1Password X on Chrome and Edge (or is that just called the 1Password extension now?)

Hey @jaredt ,
This is actually a Chromium bug that was recently introduced. This popup should not show up when 1Password is the default password manager, and we're working with the Chrome team on it.
In the meantime, you can disable this popup in Chrome's flags as follows:
- Load chrome://flags in the browser’s address bar.
- Search for “account data storage”.
- Set the flag “Enable the account data storage for passwords” to Disabled.
- Set the flag “Enable IPH for the account data storage for passwords” to Disabled.
- Restart Google Chrome.
