Why won't the extension stay unlocked?

The old extension used to stay unlocked whenever I unlocked the 1Password app on Windows and Mac.

This new redesigned extension is having me unlock 30-40 times a day and it's EXTREMELY frustrating to use. I unchecked the setting "Automatically lock 1Password" in the extension options. I also have auto-lock settings unchecked in the main app.

    Hey @komocode ,

The new 1Password in the browser does not connect to the desktop app (yet), so it has its own auto-lock settings. However, it will still lock up if you close your browser completely even if you disable auto-lock.

There are a few things I can suggest that might improve your workflow here:

    • Keep the browser open (but minimized when you don't need it) and 1Password will remain unlocked.
    • Change your Master Password to something that is easier to type, such as a worded password, which is still super strong: https://1password.com/password-generator/?type=memorable
    • Install 1Password Classic instead and remove 1Password in the browser: https://support.1password.com/cs/1password-classic-extension/ - 1Password Classic connects to the desktop app and will remain unlocked, but you will lose functionality such as the inline menu that shows up inside fields and suggest proper actions.

We're working on integrating 1Password in the browser with the desktop app, and when that'll happen you will be able to keep them both unlocked for as long as you'd like even if you close the browser.

Thanks. I'll use classic in the mean time.
