Wells Fargo website problems

Certain parts of Wells Fargo's website will auto-fill correctly while others don't. The URL I'm having a consistent problem with is https://connect.secure.wellsfargo.com/auth/login/present
It acts like it wants to auto-fill because my credentials come up as suggested by 1PasswordX browser extension (in Chrome), but when I select the login it doesn't fill in.

We had a user the other day mention the same thing. They started using https://www.wellsfargo.com/ for their login needs. Does that fulfill your needs? I'm not sure about Wells Fargo. I do not have an account with them.

    @ag_tommy
You don't need to have an account with them to test on the URL I gave. Anything 1Password tries to fill in doesn't even appear.

Thank you for the suggestion for using https://www.wellsfargo.com/ That link works for me and I'll switch my entry to that now

On behalf of Tommy, you are most welcome! Glad to hear updating the URL did the trick for you. :)

I'm having the exact same problem as @OhioDad .
And like him, the alternate website works for me as well.
The original website not working does create a small inconvenience though. Today I received my "Your Statement is Ready" email with link to go see the statement. Clicking on that link takes me to the non-working website. So instead I have to manually open a new tab and use my new bookmark.
Not the end of the world, but as I said a small inconvenience, especially for someone like me who keeps forgetting the link won't work.

Thank you @LearningToFly, I'm glad it's not just something related to my computer and this site. That's probably where I also got that Wells Fargo link was from one of the "Your Statement is Ready" emails. I think it was working at one point, but some website update. It is an inconvenience, but hopefully the 1Password team will figure out how to get it working in a future update.

Yes @OhioDad , the login web page significantly changed, so I assume it's something about that new web page that's not playing nice with 1P.

Thank you all for the feedback! We will continue to investigate and see if there is anything 1Password can do here :+1:

Hi. Sorry to resurrect this month old thread but I am having the same issue of 1Password not being able to auto-fill the form at https://connect.secure.wellsfargo.com/auth/login/present and when I use https://www.wellsfargo.com/ 1Password auto-fills the form with the correct credentials but instead of getting logged on, I get redirected to the uncooperative web address https://connect.secure.wellsfargo.com/auth/login/present which 1Password can't seem to auto-fill.
Not sure if it is just a coincidence but this started right after I cleared cookies in Chrome browser. Any suggestions?

    Hey @avejoe8 !

I was able to reproduce this issue and collected website information with the help of "1Password in the browser". I sent the created json-file to "support@1password.com". Hopefully they can fix this issue. :)

    Here's the case ID:

I found your submission. One of my colleagues on the extension team will let you know if they need additional information. 🙂

    Hey @ag_tommy !

Thanks. I hope that I‘m able to help if there are further questions. I only created a fake entry in 1Password for this website to test if auto-fill is working or not. 😉

Hello Everyone... I'm having the same issue with https://connect.secure.wellsfargo.com/auth/login/present as it acts like it wants to auto-fill because my credentials come up as suggested by 1Passord, but nothing gets filled. I tried the suggestion above of going to https://www.wellsfargo.com/ but once I log in there, I get redirected to the offending login page. Any suggestions?

@DanyDee What browser are you using? I use Chrome and just tried https://www.wellsfargo.com/ again myself and it still works OK for me.
Maybe try clearing cookies or something like that? Just guessing here ...

  • Thank you all for your feedback for this problem!

We have an issue for it internally and are looking into it, this indeed seems like an odd case where the website is clearing the fields after we've filled them.

If the above suggestion of navigating to https://www.wellsfargo.com/ does not work, the username and password still allow copy and pasting into the fields from the pop-up.

@LearningToFly I'm using Google Chrome. Yes, https://www.wellsfargo.com/ works just fine for me too, but I get redirected to the offending page where it won't log in (https://connect.secure.wellsfargo.com/auth/login/present). I can copy and paste the username and password into the fields myself just fine, but the issue is with my 82-year old Aunt who isn't very adept at doing so and she's the Wells Fargo customer. Usually 1P works just fine with most websites, but it's this one that's causing her issues.

@DanyDee Interesting. I don't get redirected, it just sends me to my normal Wells Fargo Account Summary page.
Hopefully the experts here can help. I am far from an expert! :)

@DanyDee If you edit your 1Password login item for this website and change the URL in it to "https://www.wellsfargo.com/", then you can teach your aunt to open the website via 1Password which will get her to the right place and autofill immediately.

I hope that will help for now.
